Gauthier becomes Tiego

Gauthier marks 30 years in design with new agency branding

Identity crisis? Strategic decision? Need for real change? Well-known Montreal design firm Gauthier is setting sail for new horizons as TIEGO, a new brand with a fresh outlook featuring several young and talented designers.

According to Shawn Bedford, Vice-President Creative, “For years, Gauthier has been surfing on its reputation for excellence. So this was the perfect time for a change. While we didn’t want to toss everything overboard, we did want to showcase the younger side of our 30-year existence. TIEGO is more than a name, it’s an integrated identity and platform that leverages the Gauthier legacy.”

Located in Old Montreal since its foundation, the agency sees the move toward a fluid, distinctive and timeless brand image as an opportunity to dive into the world of digital media with renewed commitment. “In 30 years, we’ve seen a lot of styles, trends and new-wave approaches. But the next few years are crucial. If we don’t want to miss the boat, we have to stay sharp and creative, and still remain relevant. There's no wiggle room, says Bedford.

In recent years, the agency has seen a marked increase in the number of digital mandates. Moving forward under the TIEGO banner, there is a deep undercurrent of excitement as the firm is better positioned to rise to future digital challenges and develop its full creative potential.
